December 1st : World AIDS Day

December 1st is World AIDS Day. This day is to spread awareness and for people worldwide to come together to fight against HIV and AIDS. Works AIDS day was the first recognized global health day. It began in 1988.

Currently there are 100,000 people living with HIV in the UK and an estimate of 34 million globally with HIV. 25 million people have died from this disease between 1988 and 2007 making it the most destructive virus in history.

Take the time out to teach tokes younger than you about the risk and dangers of HIV and AIDS. Remember to practice safe sex and and to get tested every 6 months.

To show support and awareness you can wear a red ribbon. The AIDS walk is held yearly all over the world. The New York City walk is held the 3rd Sunday of May.


RIP to those who've lost their lives to this deadly disease we will continue to fight for a cure.
