Sleep in Peace James Avery

One of televisions most beloved father figures passed away Tuesday. James Avery mostly known for his role as Philip Banks aka Uncle Phil in the 90's classic tv show "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air". Avery's publicist, Cynthia Snyder told the Associated Press he went under for open heart surgery Tuesday in Glendale, California. He passed away from complications.

Though Avery was mostly known for his role as Uncle Phil he appeared in other TV shows "Grey's Anatomy," "That '70s Show" "Charmed" and "That's So Raven". His movies credits are "Fletch," "The Prince of Egypt" and "8 Million Ways to Die." His most recent role can be seen during the upcoming Sundance film festival in "Wish I Was Here," directed by Zach Braff.

Reports have stated Avery was 65 his publicist says that's incorrect he was in fact 68 years old during during his time of death. I send my condolences to his family, his wife Barbara and step son Kevin.
