Scandal Season 3 Premiere!!

Gladiators get ready!! ABC's Hit Show Scandal is returning with its third season. The season finale left us all with our mouths dropped. Olivia's affair with the President has been exposed! We found out the head of security who's been having Olivia followed is actually her Dad! That's the last thing anyone expected What will this new found information bring to Olivia's already hectic life? We'll find out this Thursday Oct. 3rd Scandal's season 3 premiere @10PM only on ABC!

So You Think You Can Dance Season 10 Winners

So You Think You Can Dance wrapped up their 10th season Sept 10th. This time there was two winners! Americas favorite male and female dancers were Fik-Shun and Amy. Ironically they were partners this season and both stole America's heart. SYTYCD will be returning for season 11! I'll dance to that!

Lil Wayne Retiring from Hip Hop?!

Who remembers back in 2011 when Lil Wayne said he would retire at the age of 35? Well he's sticking to his word, in an interview with Katie Couric Wayne shares his plans of retirement!

Wayne's main focus is spending time with his children once he's retired. When asked by Couric if he thought he would be able to retire so soon, Wayne said, "Oh I know I'll be able to retire at 35 because I am so ready to retire now."

Wayne lights up with joy speaking of his four children (1 girl and 3 boys ) and how he wants them to live their lives! "Whatever they want to be, whatever they want to do," Wayne said about his children. "I don't want to have no influence on 'Hey you must do this, hey you must do that,' because I didn't have that. Because I didn't have that I grew up to be exactly what I wanted to be and how I wanted to be. I want that for all of my kids."

Some might feel like 35 is young to retire from music when you've worked as much as Lil Wayne alil break won't hurt. Weezy said in an interview with Hot 97 "This is what happens when you work very, very hard," "People think that when you say you work hard, they think you put two extra hours in. This is my life. That's why retiring at 35 would be a life lived, because this music thing is my life. So retiring at 35 would be enough."

Lil Wayne released his latest album, "I Am Not a Human Being II," in March. Which made #2 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold. Recently Wayne head lined his Amerikas Most Wanted tour and he just dropped his 5th gangster grills mixtape with DJ Drama Dedication 5. Wayne has said that his retirement should start after the release of his forthcoming album "Tha Carter V." There's been no word on his plans for that album release! "Tha Carter IV" was released in 2011.

12 year Anniversary 9/11/01 Never Forgotten

Today marks 12 years since our country and the World Trade Center was hit in a terrorist attack. The thousands of people who lost their lives this day in 2001 will never be forgotten. All the rescuers who risked their lives to save another will never be forgotten. 

The memorial services are held at the Freedom Tower. All the family and friends of those taken on this day get the chance to come together and celebrate the lives of their loved ones. 

This day is extremely mournful for all Americans. No matter your social status, background, race, profession, sex you can relate to September 11th. I can remember this day 12 years ago like it was yesterday. Though the tragedy didn't hit close to home just the possibility makes you appreciate life and your family so much more. 

I salute and thank all the Police officers, Fire men  EMT workers, and volunteers who came out to help on September 11, 2001. Some lost their lives trying to save another. Your services will forever be remembered. 

Sleep in Peace to everyone we lost on 9/11/01 Gone but Never Forgotten.

Serena Williams wins 5th US Open!

Serena Williams wins her 5th US Open and 17th Grand Slam! Serena was having a hard time at first After one miss, she said "I can't play in this wind." After blowing a big lead and dropping the second set, Williams chucked her racket toward the sideline, and it bounced back onto the court.

As always Williams pulled herself together to get the victory. She beat Azarenka in one if the longest tennis finals since 1980! Though this is her 5th win its also a repeat having won last year against Azarenka also.

This win puts Serena's Grand Slam singles title count to 17 which is the sixth-most in history, one shy of Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert. Williams collected a $3.6 million prize, including a $1 million bonus for producing the best results during the North American summer hard-court circuit leading up to the US Open.

She also became the first woman to top $50 million in career earnings. Her $50.9 million total is $22.1 million more than sister Venus, who is second on the list at $28.8 million.

With former president Bill Clinton among the crowd of 23,584 in Arthur Ashe Stadium, and of coarse older sister Venus in a front-row seat, its safe to say   America was the fan favorite. 

"I definitely felt the love," Williams said, "so thank you all so much for the support."

Congrats Serena!! You make tennis look easy!!  I hope you continue to inspire African American girls as well as other young girls to try new things and take the world by storm!

Beauty Tip: Get rid of Dark Circles

Many people including myself suffer from dark circles around your eyes. It can be extremely annoying. Dark circles affect everyone of all races. No one is exempt! 

The cause for dark circles varies from rubbing the eyes, insomnia allergies, excessive drinking, lack of exercise, too much sun, gluten intolerance, nasal congestion, smoking and poor diet. In order to get rid of your dark circles, You first need to know the cause then choose the antidote to get your skin to back to normal.

Step 1: Determine the cause 

Step 2: Refrigerate a cucumber for at least and hour before use. Cut cucumber horizontally into 1/4 inch slices. Dampen a wash cloth, Place cucumber slice over each eye, lay the dampened cloth over the forehead and recline the head or lay down for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 3: Refrigerate tea bags over night and place them over your eyes in the morning for about 15 minutes. 

Step 4: Clear out the sinuses with a saline solution. Mix 8 oz. water with a 1/4 tsp. sea salt or 1/2 tsp. baking soda. Tilt the head over the sink so that one nostril is parallel to the sink. Pour the solution down the nostril facing up until the water exits the nostril parallel to the sink.

Step 5:Consume essential vitamins such as B6 to help the adrenal glands function. Eat greens for calcium and magnesium, specifically cabbage and spinach. Eat a lot of fruit and veggies, cut back on salt and drink 8 glasses of water daily. 

Step 6: Apply eye creams that contain vitamin K and retinol, as dark circles are thought to be caused by a vitamin K deficiency.  Such creams may reduce puffiness and discoloration over prolonged usage. 

I hope this was helpful to anyone like me. We all want to look our best and it takes work to do so. Remember get at least 7 hours of sleep, Relax more and stay beautiful!

Congratulations: Eva Marcille is pregnant!!!

My idol Eva Marcille aka Eva Diva is expecting her first child! Eva was supporting boyfriend Kevin McCall at the BMI awards when she announced to BET she's 5 months pregnant!! 

Marcille is filled with joy when she spoke with BET on her new journey in life  "Being able to bring a life into the world is every woman's dream but for me it's more than just a dream it is a magical, mystical journey which I get to share with this amazing man." Eva made sure to add, "Kevin is the only man who I would share this moment in life with." 

Eva is most known for winning season 3 of Americas Next Top Model. After winning Eva continued modeling and went on to acting in movies, sitcoms and soap operas,she does it all! This fall Eva will guest star on the next season of "Real Husbands of Hollywood."

Eva is a good place she continued to express "My life continues to be a bundle of incredible experiences. I get to do this incredible show on BET and I get to be a mom and live this amazing life that God has bestowed upon me. Who could ask for anything more?"

I'm beyond happy for my Eva Diva, I've loved her since ANTM. Im happy for her the career is doing well and shes finally with a good guy. Congrats to Kevin and Eva I know they'll be great parents.
